Ellerslie Car Show

Sunday 8th Feb, 2026 was Ellerslie Car Show day. Seven shiny Morris Minors and one Minor-derived “special” met up at the Greenlane McDonalds carpark. The carpark was more-or-less a pre-show because many other car clubs were meeting there too! We all set off in procession to cross the motorway to the Ellerslie racecourse and find our allocated spot. There was the usual jam of interesting cars (vintage and classic) puttering along as everyone arrived around the same time.

We had been allocated a spot on a corner out of the way. At first we thought it might be a punishment after last year (best not to mention that), but it turned out to be quite a good spot – A lot of foot traffic came past because we were right at the entrance to a public parking area, and there was a very nice tree to sit under. The weather threatened to rain but remained fine, and cleared up nicely in the afternoon.

As usual there were many interesting cars on display with something for everyone!
